5 free printable ADHD task cards, no email needed
These are five free printable ADHD task cards: one each for dishes, showers, doom piles, body doubling and bad days. Each card turns a task your brain refuses to start into three or four steps, and the last line of every card is the bad-day version, so there is always a size of the job you can actually do.
What these cards are
A task card is a small printed card that lives where the task happens. Dish card by the sink. Shower card on the bathroom mirror. Instead of holding "clean the kitchen" in your head as one giant blob, you read one line and do one line.
The five cards below are the free sample of the ADHD Home Reset, a 20-card deck built from more than 21,000 real ADHD threads about cleaning and home life. The full text of every free card is on this page, so you can read them before you print anything.

Dish Rescue
Kitchen. Actually takes about 12 minutes.
- Music or video ON before anything else.
- Fill sink with hot soapy water. That's the whole commitment.
- Drop dishes in. Walk away if you want. Soaking counts.
- Still here? Wash until the song ends. Then decide again.
Bad day: rinse ONE mug for tomorrow's coffee. Done = win.
The 2-Alarm Shower
Bathroom. A full shower is 8 to 15 minutes, not an hour.
- Set 2 alarms: total time, and 5-minutes-left.
- Turn the water on BEFORE you decide anything.
- Same wash order every time. Zero decisions inside.
- At the final alarm: count slowly to 30, then step out at 30.
Bad day: wipes + dry shampoo + clean shirt = legitimate protocol.
Doom Pile Triage
Clutter. One pile takes about 10 minutes with 4 boxes.
- Timer: 10 min. Music on. ONE pile.
- Four boxes: Trash, Belongs elsewhere, Needs a decision, Keep here.
- Sort mechanically. No verdicts today, just addresses.
- Timer ends, you're allowed to stop. The decision box waits for a body double.
Bad day: remove exactly 3 objects. The monument cracks.
Body Double Call
Motivation. The most-reported game changer in the threads we read.
- Text someone (ADHD friends get it instantly): "body double in 20 min?"
- Phone on speaker. You both name your task out loud.
- Work separately, together. Check in when one of you finishes.
Bad day: no friend free? Put on a cleaning video. Tornado mode is contagious.
The Bad-Day Floor
Recovery. Hitting the floor on a bad day = 10/10.
- Body: teeth (wisps count), wipes + dry shampoo, one glass of water.
- House: one mug rinsed, trash bag tied, outfit on the chair.
- That is the WHOLE list. Everything else is officially cancelled today.
Bad day: this IS the bad-day card. You're already doing it right.
How to use the cards
- Print the PDF and cut along the dashed lines. Plain paper works. Cardstock lasts longer.
- Stick each card where the task happens. Dish Rescue by the sink, the 2-Alarm Shower on the bathroom mirror, Doom Pile Triage on the pile itself.
- Read one line, do one line. Do not read ahead. The card is holding the list so your brain does not have to.
- On a hard day, the bottom line of the card is the whole job. Doing that line counts as a full win, not a consolation prize.
- Start with one card in one room. Add the next one only when the first feels boring.
If you want to know why this works better than willpower, the 5-minute reset and cleaning paralysis guides explain the mechanism. If you are not sure which card to start with, the 60-second mess-type quiz picks one for you.
What's next if these help
These five are a taste of the full deck. The ADHD Home Reset has all 20 cards (kitchen, laundry, bathroom, trash, doom piles, mornings and evenings) plus a short guide on why routines fail and what to use instead. It costs $19, once, no subscription. Start with the free five though. If the free cards do not click, the deck will not either, and you will have lost nothing. If you would rather have everything on one sheet than on separate cards, the free printable ADHD cleaning checklist is the same resets on one A4 page.
FAQ
Are the ADHD task cards really free?
Yes. The PDF link on this page is a direct download. There is no checkout, no trial and no catch. The five cards are a sample of the 20-card ADHD Home Reset, which costs $19 if you want the rest later.
Do I need to give my email to download the cards?
No. The link goes straight to the PDF. If you would rather download from Gumroad, that also works, but nothing here asks you to sign up.
Will the cards work if I am not diagnosed with ADHD?
Yes. The cards are built for brains that struggle to start boring tasks, hold multi-step jobs in mind, or feel time pass. That includes plenty of people without a diagnosis. Nothing on the cards is medical advice and none of it needs a label to work.
What printer and paper do I need?
Any home printer on plain A4 or letter paper is fine. The cards print four to a sheet with dashed cut lines. Cardstock lasts longer, and a bit of tape or a magnet keeps each card where its task happens.
